An Open Mind

It talks about the new way of learning for free through the media. There are some conferences uploaded by ITunes in which students can be able to watch it like if they were studying the same course but without any grade. This program, project has helped many people out of England to learn and be able to assist to those classes by online in order to open and making smaller and smaller the gap of education for those who does not have the tools and resources to study in those places. What is more, what this article tries to show us is the new way of learning, in which it might pretend to make a better education for everyone.

At the beginning, this idea of uploading and having classes for free on the internet was only for educators, nevertheless, the most people who are interested in those courses have being students from others careers, other universities and now from other countries around the world. One of the good advantages of this method has been that many people with low economic resources, people who stay at home and to those teenagers who want to go to school. Therefore, with this new way of approaching knowledge, those people who are not prepare or do not know how schools work, through this Open Mind program they can be prepare for going there.

I decided to show you this page because this course is very interesting if you want to improve your English Professionally. It means that through this course you will be able to develop an academic language which can help you to find better jobs and work easily in the 4 skills that we have been dealing with through out our career.

MIT OCW http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/foreign-languages-and-literatures/21f-223-listening-speaking-and-pronunciation-fall-2004/ I chose this course because a good way to improve a new language is by improving the productive skills, specially speaking because you can communicate and interact with others.

Utah http://english.usu.edu/UG-englisheducation.aspx This course may help you to find good ways of teaching English to your students. They do not only teach you the theory, they offer you how to put it into practice.

ASHLAND University http://www.ashland.edu/programs/integrated-language-arts-education This course is based on helping you to teacher English through arts, specially literature to those students who are in 7-12th grade. I chose this page because this course teaches you how to teach English through arts in a specific group of students.

2. Write a “field note” observation account of the topic as it can be observed in the videos:

_ Teachers allow students to participle.

_ Students are able to talk in the class.

_ Teachers ask students open questions which means they can express what the feel, see or interpret.

_ Teachers and students are able to interact easily with the same opportunities to talk into the classroom.

4. Interpret your field notes into an academic analysis of the observations.

According to what we can see in the video, “Teacher talk and students interactionit is totally presented in this group. First of all, we can see classroom management in there which helps teachers to give instructions and students can understand at the same time. Therefore, teachers can allow students to participate in the class in order to practice speaking.

As a consequence, we can see that meanwhile we have interaction and a mutual participation into the classteachers and students”, there is valuable lesson in which students can learn and understand in a interesting and entertaining way.

5. Formulate conclusions based on your observations and your analysis. Were you able to arrive at empirically valid and robust conclusions based on your observations? Explain why or why not?

What I can conclude with my observations and analysis already written. I can say that I meanwhile there is interaction into the classroom. Students participate more and they don’t get bored in the class. If we prepare interesting classes, in which you can play and even let students to think. They easily get interested in the class helping us as a teacher to have a better development on students learning. That is why I chose this micro-teaching because although the English level was a little advanced, students get very interested in the activity, example that can help us a lot working at school.

In relation with what we can observe in the video, there is a step by step in order to do the activity in the class. First of all teachers give instruction, they give an example of how to play it and later students start working on that. Meanwhile teacher intrinsically can see and evaluate studentsknowledge.

I totally valid and affirm that in this group there was Initiation, response and evaluation during their lesson because they follow and applystep by stepin their lesson plan. Helping them to have an organized class that can work out well, and in which you can see the structure of a lesson because as we have been taught, you must have an initiationintroduction”, response or go to practice to finish with a closure or evaluation of the class with an activity, game, etc.

Learning Spanish

I got impressed looking for an interesting webpage to study a new language. First of all, I could see that those languages which are not that global as English and Spanish. They don’t have lot of content in order to study the language. Therefore, I cannot talk that much about those. Nevertheless, those websites in which you can learn English and Spanish, you can see they have lots of resources like postcard, worksheets and things like that.



If you look for this page, you can see there are many ways of learning Spanish. It could be through typical expressions for greetings, for travelling. You have Grammar and so on. Although, it is being discussed that Grammar it is a good way to learn a language. I think we should learn it in order to produce the language. It doesn’t mean you have to learn a foreign language just through Grammar, but there is not doubt it is going to help you. That is why, you can see Websites that help you to learn a new language, and they do have Grammar in there.
